We’re proud to announce the release of our inaugural State of IoT, and celebrate our 1st year anniversary!
The Indiana IoT Lab opened on March 21, 2018, as the first municipally-inspired IoT lab in the Nation. It is a public-private partnership that includes Launch Fishers, the City of Fishers, Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), Indiana University and partner companies, Comcast Business and Allegion. When it opened its doors, the IoT Lab housed seven companies and is now home to 20 companies, nearly reaching capacity. With comprehensive programming and education opportunities for those interested or directly tied to the IoT Industry, the Indiana IoT Lab has hosted 50 events and welcomed more than 3,000 visitors in its first year.
“The Indiana IoT Lab is thriving, but the quest is far from over. Our goal is to create a statewide network of IoT innovation hubs, removing barriers to our entrepreneurs, improving statewide collaboration, and building IoT capabilities into traditional strengths. This is just the beginning.” — John Wechsler, Founder and CEO of the Indiana IoT Lab
The State of IoT focuses on the core economic pillars in Indiana: manufacturing, logistics, and agriculture. Representing a huge share of the Indiana economy, the report evaluates their current state, challenges ahead for each, and how IoT is making an impact, as well as how the Indiana IoT Lab is working to future-proof these industries.
Also included is a deep dive into the fundamental building blocks of IoT, such as machine learning, data and analytics, cybersecurity, legal, and IP considerations. The report, which is near 100 pages, contains contributions from more than 20 Indiana companies that range from global entities to innovative IoT startups.
